Autumn at Hickory Hill Academy is a magical time. The crisp air, vibrant leaves, and the natural world across our 10-acre campus create the perfect backdrop for hands-on learning.

This week, our 5th graders became biologists, carefully dissecting owl pellets and uncovering tiny bones to piece together the diets of these incredible nocturnal hunters. It was equal parts wonder, science, and a little “eww!” — but mostly “WOW!”

Experiences like this help students understand food webs, ecosystems, and animal adaptations while encouraging curiosity and critical thinking. Exploring the wildlife around our campus during the fall season provides lessons they’ll never forget — all while learning in a nurturing, student-focused environment.
At Hickory Hill Academy, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our state-of-the-art science lab and hands-on makerspace give students the chance to explore real-world scientific concepts, experiment, and tackle creative challenges. These spaces are designed to spark curiosity, inspire innovation, and nurture a lifelong love of discovery. And of course, nothing compares to exploring all of this on our beautiful 10-acre campus, where learning and nature come together seamlessly.
