Who else is still thinking about Saturday’s incredible Winter Strings Concert and Art Showcase at the Middleton High School Performing Arts Center? It was one of those special community moments that lingers long after the weekend ends!

While we’ll be sharing a full feature on the student artwork soon, today we’re celebrating the music of the event—the amazing performances from our HHA Strings Program and the growth of our young musicians.

The concert opened with our K–2 Strings students, whose enthusiasm oof big smiles and waves to their families in the crowd brought warmth and joy to the auditorium!

Kindergarteners shared The Ant Song and The DAD Song, followed by first graders who charmed the audience with Elephants and Frogs and The Monkey Song. Our second graders closed the early program with Hot Cross Buns and Variations and Mary Had a Little Lamb, proudly demonstrating how much they’ve grown this year. Their emerging musicality is a testament to the thoughtful guidance of Miss Jessica, whose kindness, expertise, and encouragement shine through every note played.
The evening continued with our 3rd–8th grade Strings and Orchestra students, who performed a beautiful mix of festive classics and more advanced repertoire. From the cheerful Dreidel, Dreidel and Jingle Bells on the Housetop to the elegant Nutcracker Overture and the dramatic Mystic Caravan, our older students showcased not only skill, but confidence and artistry. Their teamwork and stage presence reflected the strength of the HHA Strings Program and the value of a rich K–8 music education at HHA.
Although the evening also featured our vibrant Art Showcase, filled with creativity and imagination, we’ll be giving our young artists their own spotlight very soon—and we can’t wait to share that story with you.

We are deeply grateful for our Hickory Hill Academy families, our incredible staff and leadership, and most of all, our students, whose hard work and enthusiasm made Saturday’s event such a meaningful celebration. This concert truly reflected the spirit of community, growth, and joy that defines HHA.
Stay tuned—our Art Showcase highlight is coming next! #HickoryHillAcademy #HHAMadisonWI #MadisonWI #HHAWinterConcert #HHAArtShowcase #HHAStringsProgram #K8MusicEducation #StudentPerformances #ArtsEducationMadison #MadisonPrivateSchool #YoungMusicians #OrchestraProgram #ViolinEnsemble #CreativeKidsMadison #MadisonSchoolEvents
