At Hickory Hill Academy, we serve children from 12 months through 4K in our Early Childhood Program and lower and middle school students in our K-8th grade school. We understand that selecting the perfect school for your child is a significant decision, and we want to highlight some of the fantastic things that make our school a unique place to learn and grow!
One of our core beliefs is that physical education is essential for a child's overall well-being. We take this seriously and are always looking for innovative and fun ways to keep our students active and engaged. Keeping your children active and engaged during the winter months can be a challenge when the cold temperatures of Wisconsin linger. That's why we're excited to share with you our latest physical education adventures!
We're proud to partner with Madison area businesses - one being Little Om Big Om, a yoga studio that specializes in mindful movement classes. Our students have a blast exploring the connection between their minds and bodies while staying active and healthy.
Their phenomenal instructor, Meghan, has been visiting each of the incredible K-6th grade classrooms for some mindful movement fun every week. Next week, will be a spectacular one when she brings in some fun tools to experiment with the connection between mind and body!
The partnership with Little Om Big Om has been a huge success, and the students have been thoroughly enjoying their mindful movement classes. The exercises have not only kept the students active but have also helped them develop essential skills such as concentration, relaxation, and mindfulness.
But that's not all - we're building a brand new K-8th grade building that's going to feature so many fantastic new spaces including a unique gymnasium and a gorgeous, tropical conservatory. This means that our opportunities for physical activities and exploration are going to expand even further! We're excited to see what kind of fun and creative activities we can come up with in this new space!
Of course, physical education is just one aspect of what makes Hickory Hill Academy a great place to learn and grow. Our dedicated teachers and staff work tirelessly to provide a supportive and challenging learning environment that meets the needs of each individual student. We prioritize small class sizes, so our teachers can provide personalized attention to each child.
We also believe in a well-rounded education that includes art, music, and foreign languages. Our students receive exceptional learning opportunities and enrichment programs that help them build a solid educational foundation.
Our new building also gives us the opportunity to EXPAND and add more classes! Hickory Hill Academy educates and cares for children 12 months - 8th grade.
