Read Across America is an annual event that takes place on March 2nd to celebrate reading and encourage a love of books among children. The event coincides with the birthday of the famous children's author, Dr. Seuss. Our celebration of Read Across America was nothing short of extraordinary!
Today we pulled out all the stops with guest readers, surprise guests, and a dance party that filled the entire school with excitement and joy. This amazing event showed just how magical reading and learning can be, and inspired students to embrace the power of imagination and the endless possibilities that come with education.
Each classroom had a special surprise in store for the children as the day began, with their own unique set of amazing surprise guests who came to read to them. The guests were so engaging and enthusiastic that they really showed the students how fun and exciting reading can be. Some even invited the kids to be a part of the story, making it an interactive and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
Every guest reader had the opportunity to share about their occupation and how reading has played a role in their lives.
The readers, ranging from a pilot to meteorologist, news anchor, professors, artists, athletes and more were all passionate about their professions and the books that helped shape their success. Through their stories, the students were able to see the importance of reading in all areas of life and were inspired to continue exploring the world of literature.
After a morning full of exciting stories and fascinating guests, the celebration of Read Across America at HHA concluded with an awesome dance party outside. The students danced and laughed with their teachers and classmates, letting loose and enjoying the beauty of the moment. The energy was contagious and the atmosphere was electric as everyone danced to their favorite tunes. It was a wonderful way to end the morning and a perfect reminder that reading and learning can be a fun and joyous experience!
