Hickory Hill Academy President, Matt Dahl, had been texting with Santa's agent (Mrs. Claus) since July of this year, and though Santa was in high demand, the incredible Claus couple cleared their schedule this past Saturday to come visit HHA this past weekend!
Once word was confirmed, we determined to spread the news far and wide so that children from all over the Madison area could come and meet the big guy, share their Christmas wishes with him, write him a letter, and talk with Mrs. Claus about being on the nice list!
We are proud to say that our "Sleigh Bells and Santa" event was a wild success! Almost 1,000 people from around the Madison area descended upon the HHA campus to enjoy the beautiful winter wonderland, lots of Christmas sweets, Disney princesses and characters, reindeer encounters, a candy cane hunt, letter writing to Santa, and - of course - the big guy himself!
We were especially excited to host Santa Claus as his compassion, kindness, and generosity are legendary. But these events aren't merely an effort to spread Christmas cheer; the compassion, kindness, and generosity that come with the season are all key parts of our HHA culture that we seek to instill in our students year round. After all, our vision is cultivating compassionate leaders.
As families bounced and buzzed from one station to another, they were especially excited to warm up in our current Kindergarten classroom, known as the Big Red Barn, and see a window into some big things happening here at HHA! Visitors were able to enjoy some beautiful live music, get a hands on experience with our much anticipated, one of a kind Strings Program and see the many updates to the construction of our brand new facility opening up Fall 2023 for K-8th grade students!
The night ended with the lights of our campus shining bright - it truly was a magical sight!
